THE PILL FOR DOGS

Campaign In Britain (Special Crspdt. N’.ZPA) LONDON, June 27. Thousands of animal lovers are being asked to sign a petition urging the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to develop a birth control pill for dogs. The campaign has been launched by Bernard Cuff, who has a dog sanctuary at Ascot, Berkshire, where he has saved the lives of many unwanted dogs. He says two million dogs will die if the R.S.P.C.A. succeeds in its petition to the Home Office to get the price of dog licences raised to £2. “There should be more publicity given to an injection which can easily be given to bitches within 48 hours of mating to stop conception,” he said. He has prepared thousands of pamphlets listing his aims and plans to send the petition to the Home Office.
