FOR BEDROOM SUITES OF DISTINCTION BLAKELEYS, 51 HIGH ST, KAIAPOI. If you believe there is little poverty in our I midist... we ask you to read this OPEN LETTER from the Dear Friends, If it appears to you as though there is little poverty In Christchurch at this time, we only wish you could spend a few hours of eny typical day working with members of this Society. We can assure you, the resources of our organisation are being fully taxed as we struggle to meet an unprecedented demand from families requiring warm winter clothing. Since the inception of SL Vincent de Paul Society shops, it has been our purpose and policy to supply donated clothing free of charge to ANYONE IN NEED, while items which are not immediately distributed, are spld in our shops at bargain prices . . . with proceeds from these sales then being devoted to helping, through personal service, the needy in other ways. Can you help us to keep pace with the daily requests we receive for assistance? At this moment we are desperately short of ALL types of clothing, but especially items of MEN’S, WOMEN’S AND CHILDREN’S UNDERWEAR, CHILDREN’S SHOES AND JERSEYS, MATERNITY WEAR: also SHEETS, BLANKETS, RUGS and EIDERDOWNS, in fact, anything of use to anyone, would be thankfully acknowledged during the coming weeks. Here, at St. Vincent de Paul Society, we have the workers and facilities to continue giving help to those not so fortunate, but we must depend on your generosity in supplying us with suitable items for distribution. We ask you to consider this as a personal appeal for your assistance . . . believe us when we say, the used clothing and household goods which you provide can be the means of giving new hope and comfort to those who really need it Yours gratefully, ST. VINCENT da PAUL SOCIETY. 'PHONE 897-484 AND ARRANGE FOR OUR VAN TO CALL fewsas? ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY - 265 STANMORE ROAD.
