MARATHON RACE FOR MODEL CARS.—A photograph taken on Saturday while the 12-hour endurance race conducted by the Suburbs Model Car Club was in progress at its headquarters in Gloucester street. The competing “drivers” (seated at back) are, from left, B. C. Burnett (Suburbs B team), R. Ford (Avonside), B. Howard (Suburbs A), and A. Hamlin (Christchurch). The race was won by the Suburbs A team, with Christchurch second, and Suburbs B third. There were almost 5000 laps in 12 hours, with a difference of 48 laps between first and second.
