Support For Strike
More than 100 drivers from the Rangiora and surrounding districts, at a stopwork meeting yesterday, decided unanimously to support a resolution adopted by the metropolitan members of the Canterbury Drivers’ Union to stop work for two days if there was a further breakdown in conciliation proceedings for a new award.
The union’s secretary (Mr A. S. Roberts) and assessor (Mr G. Searle) both addressed the meeting.
