RED CROSS PLAN
Sub-Centre At Dunsandel The Canterbury Red Cross Society hopes to establish a sub-centre at Dunsandel next month. “Dunsandel has quite a good Junior Red Cross and we hope the sub-centre will encourage others to join the society,” said the secretary of the North Canterbury centre (Mr R. J. Lipscombe). “Up to now the nearest centres have been at Southbridge and Lincoln. “Last year a similar scheme was started in South Christchurch and it has been very successful. The centre began with about six members, but the membership has now increased to about 35. “Officials from the Canterbury centre will be sent to Dunsandel to help establish the sub-centre, but it will be up to the people of Dunsandel to keep it alive,” said Mr Lipscombe.
