Six Hurt In Collision

Six persons were injured when two cars were involved in a head-on collision on Yaldhurst road 200 yards west of Russley road shortly after midnight yesterday. Four of the victims were knocked unconscious. The driver of one car, John Walter Jowers, of Halkett, and James Blair, of 101 Linwood avenue, and Brian Lyndsay Aceglave. of 386 Cashel street, were admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries. Roland John Jeffrey, of 48 I Niven street, the driver of i the other car, suffered concussion and injuries to the jaw. Kevin Hams, of 363 i Worcester street, suffered

lacerations to the head, while Nancy Brady, of 541 Worcester street, suffered head injuries. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Admitted To Hospital.— When a car and a cycle collided at the comer of Papanui and Blighs roads about 6 JO pjn. on Saturday Frank Pearcy, of 14 Taylor avenue, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Car Hits Pole.— Rosemary Franklin, of 2 Proctor street, suffered leg and facial injuries when a car hit a pole on the Main North road about , 12.45 a.m. yesterday. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Car Rolls Over.—A car rolled over in Breezes road about 12.15 a.m. yesterday. Harley Stewart, of 19 Eureka

Arm Injuries.—John Leslie Higgs, of 7 Morrison avenue, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for arm injuries after he fell off a motor-cycle at the corner of Morrison avenue and Langdons road about 1.20 p.m. on Saturday. Head Injuries.—A married couple was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries after a car hit a pole in Opawa road last evening. They are Anthony and Cecily Franklin, of 80 Martindale road. The power lines were brought down across the road and traffic had to be diverted for a period.
