The courses will consist of series of lectures and demonstrations and cover theoretical and clinical teaching in the care of the premature baby and neonate. 2. CARDIO VASCULAR & THORACIC NURSING, GREEN LANE HOSPITAL To commence 21 November, 1966, This is a six months’ course. It is designed to cover the nursing of Thoracic and Cardio-Vascular diseases and in particular the special investigations and management of patients requiring cardiac surgery using extra corporeal circulation. 3. PLASTIC SURGICAL NURSING, MIDDLEMORE HOSPITAL To commence 21 November, 1966. This is a six month’s course. The course is designed to prepare to student to take her place as a competent nursing member of the Plastic Surgical team. 4. ORTHOPAEDIC NURSING, MIDDLEMORE HOSPITAL To commence 21 November, 1966. This is a six months’ course. The course is designed to prepare the Graduate Nurse to take her place as a nursing specialist in the Orthopaedic team. GENERAL (a) Each Course will consist of a series of lectures and demonstrations by the Medical and Nursing Staff, together with clinical experience in the appropriate wards, theatres and other departments. (b) At the conclusion of each Course a State Examination will be held, and a Certificate will be awarded to successful candidates. (c) Staff Nurses’ salary and conditions will apply during the Courses. (d) Living in accommodation Is available If required. (e) All applicants must have completed a minimum of 5 months experience from the date of the State Registration Examination to the date of commencement of the Post-Certificate Course.
