Project Models To Be Shown At Fair

A Ministry of Works display at the New Zealand Industries Fair opening on August 18 would incorporate at least 10 static models and two working ones, said the fair secretarymanager (Mr R. T. Alston).

The department would show projects to be tackled within the next few years throughout New Zealand.

They include the “beehive” Parliament building and Tongariro power project. There would be a static display on Ham and a model of the Northern Motorway. “There will be models to show the scope and activities of the Ministry of Works” said Mr Alston. The Ministry of Works section in the Government Court would depict the department's seven divisions—power, roading, architecture, housing, mechanical and electrical engineering, water control and soil conservation. “A three-dimensional montage relief map of New Zealand will be fitted with light

indicators to show the multimillion pound jobs of the department” said Mr Alston. The fair will be officially opened by the Governor-Gen-eral (Sir Bernard Fergusson).
