Although Christchurch, one of the teams sharing the lead in the senior Rugby championship, is expected to beat Merivale-Papanui today, the other top side, Linwood, has a stern task on its hands.

University B is opposed by Lincoln College, which desperately needs a victory if it is to stay in the race for the top four places, and has the players to do it. New Brighton, not a realiable side in recent weeks, could have trouble with Sydenham. which has improved and which has been only a point or two behind in most of its lost matches. ,

Albion, well placed to get a top place, should beat Belfast, and Old Boys could have its first win for a long time, at the expense of Marist.
