The American, T . Bolt,' scored birdies on four of the first nine holes to take the lead with a three-under-par 68 in the 100,000-dollar Western Open golf tournament at Chicago yesterday. One stroke behind the 48-year-old Bolt is the United States Open champion, W. Casper. Two other Americans, H. Kneece and D. Sanders, are tied with Casper. K. D. G. Nagle, with 72, led the Australian-New Zealand challengers. He was followed by B. Devlin, 73, B. Crampton, 73. R. J. Charles, 75, and P. Thomson, 76.
