RUSSIAN VISIT

De Gaulle In Siberia

(N Z P A -Reuter—Copyright> NOVOSIBIRSK (Siberia), June 24

President de Gaulle today visits the new nerve centre of Soviet science when he leaves this booming city for a trip to its “scientific settlement” satellite in the Siberian forests. At the settlement —known as the Akademgorodok—he will be received by Mr Mikhail Lavrentiev, its director and one of its top researchers, who was at the birth of the centre in 1957.

The French President flew from Moscow yesterday after two days of political talks with the Kremlin leaders, to a welcome generally agreed to be warmer than on his arrival in Moscow on Monday to begin his 12-day Soviet tour.
