Shorter Parking The 15-minute parking restriction in Colombo street will come into force on Monday, the City Council’s traffic Superintendent (Mr J. F. Thomas) said yesterday. Parking meters in the area between Hereford and St. Asaph streets will be removed tomorrow, and signs warning of the new 15i minute limit will be erected. I The restriction will apply on both sides of Colombo street.
Gifts Of Sheep? Possible approaches to Canterbury farmers fr- gifts towards the Town Hall were discussed at the annual meeting of Christchurch Town Hall Promotion yesterday. Perhaps farmers could be asked to give a sheep, which could then oe sold by the organisation to provide funds, it was suggested.
Late Licensing
The motor registration branch of the Christchurch Post Office in the Wentworth Building, Hereford street, will be open for the relicensing of motor-vehicles from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. today. Today is the last Friday of the month and the last opportunity for evening relicensing. Neave Journals

Neave arrived in New Zea-1 land in 1864, and in 1865 bought the Rakaia Forks [ sheep run from William! Rolleston and later renamed 1 it Mount Algidus. In 1886 he! bought “Okeover" in Ham 1 road, where the homestead is[ now occupied by the Canter-; bury School of Fine Arts. J
Fine Day The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine after light rain had fell during the night. Winds were light and variable. Temperatures at Harewood were 39 degrees at 6 a.m., 41 degrees at 9 a.m., 50 degrees at noon, and 51 degrees at 3 p.m. The maximum was 54 degrees at 1 p.m.
