Equality Keen

“The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Equality and Laramie made good impressions in final trials at Awapuni yesterday. Laramie is engaged in the Winter Handicap at Hastings and Equality will contest the second leg, the Mahora Handicap. Work was performed mainly on the inside trial where the ground was soft. A few used the course proper, which was heavy. On the course proper Equality ran five furlongs freely. He took Imin llsec for the distance, the I last three in 42 3-ssec. He gave Battleground a start and finished a long way in front. (Equality looks near his peak, (and a good race can be expected from him.

On the inside trial Laramie (showed his best style over five (furlongs in Imin 3 2-ssec, the ■ last three in 38sec. He looks pure to run well at Hastings, j Torere, who worked well on (Tuesday, again impressed when he ran freely over a mile In Imin 48 3-ssec, the last three iin 40 3-ssec. He looks a lightweight prospect at Hastings. My Desire hit out keenly over half a mile in 54sec, the last three furlongs in 40 2-ssec. She looks fresh and might run a good race in the Clifton Hack Handicap, especially if the ground is reasonably firm.
