GERRARD WILL COACH IN U.S.

The New Zealand Davis Cup player, L. A. Gerrard, said at Wimbledon yesterday that he would turn professional and become a coach at a country club in the United States in September. He is the holder of five New Zealand singles titles and is current national doubles champion with B. E. Fairlie. In ApriL Gerrard was eliminated in the first round of the men’s singles and doubles in the current Wimbledon championships. In the singles on Tuesday, he was beaten by E. L. Scott (United States), and yesterday he and R. Taylor (Britain) lost to the Rumanians, -I. Nastase and I. Tiriac, 63, 1416, 3-6, 7-5, 4-6.
