(N.Z. Press Assn.~Copyright) LONDON. The Australian, R. Clarke, was well beaten in the invitation 5000 metres race at Crystal Palace, London, yesterday. He finished fourth, behind K. Sawawkz (Japan), M. Gamoudi (Tunisia) and L. Mecser (Hungary). The race was won In 13min 36.25ec.
