JOURNALISTS’ AWARDS

WELLINGTON, June 23.
A member of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation’s news service and an Auckland journalist have won the New Zealand Journalists’ Association’s awards for investigative and critical reporting respectively.
The awards were given to Mr B. M. Crossan, of the N.Z.8.C., for a story on earthquake risks in Government buildings in Wellington, and to Mr P. J. Freeth, of the “New Zealand Herald,” for an article on factory farming. In addition to the 20guinea prize Mr Freeth will receive 10 guineas given at the discretion of the judges.
