Obituary
MRS I. E. ROBERTS (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 22. Mrs Isabella Enid Roberts, M.8.E., of Levin, widow of a former Labour Minister of Agriculture, Mr B. Roberts, died at Palmerston North yesterday. Mrs Roberts was 84. She was nationally known for her charitable work. In 1946 she represented New Zealand as a delegate to the United Nations. Her Interests include C. 0.R. 5.0.. Red Cross. Pacific Islands missions, and Dr. Barnado Homes. Mrs Roberts’s’ works for elderly people was acknowledged by the setting up of Levin’s Ben Enid Foundation, named after her late husband and herself. Mrs Roberts was a school teacher, and was headmistress of several North Island schools.
