TREMAIN’S 100

Third Top Try Scorer (N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS. The All Black flanker, K. R. Tremain, became the third player to score more than 100 tries in first-class Rugby when he scored twice in Hawke's Bay’s 44-9 win over East Coast at Hastings yesterday. Tremain now has 101 tries to his credit —a figure which has been beaten only by R. A. Jarden (145) and the former Canterbury representative, R. M. Smith (102). Other try-scorers for Hawke’s Bay were L Macßae (2), L. Cooper (2), D. Smith (2), M. Duncan and T. Johnson. L Bishop kicked seven conversions. For East Coast, H. Henare kicked two penalty goals and D. Wirepa scored a try. At Pahiatua. Manawatu beat Bush, 22-0. For Manawatu, P. Kelly (2), D. J. McCaskie (2), R. Pratt and A. Cornelius scored tries, and Pratt kicked two conversions.
