Amuri Hospital
Sir,—l was disappointed that the meeting convened by the Waiau Citizens’ Committee had not been given more publicity, other than in the North Canterbury news. However, I hope that the content of the meeting has by now reached members of the North Canterbury Hospital Board. This time it is too hot to put in the “out” basket. The Amuri residents dearly want the Amuri Hospital reopened, as apart from being an important service, it. would save many travelling hours (say, to Christchurch) and would be an added incentive to get farm labour into the area. The predicament of Amuri residents is serious, and if the North Canterbury ■Hospital Board procrastinates any longer the progressive potential of the Amuri County may be hindered by lack of a hospital. How long will it be before we see the lights glowing in the Amuri Hospital?—Yours, etc., lACTA ALEA EST. June 21, 1966.
