DELEGATION’S AIM
Direct Flights To Christchurch A 10-man delegation, promoted by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, will fly to Auckland on July 20 to discuss with the general manager of Air New Zealand (Mr F. A. Reeves) the possibility of more direct overseas flights to Christchurch. The composition of the delegation had not yet been decided, the secretary of the chamber (Mr P. L. Bush) said yesterday. However, it would include several members of the chamber’s air services committee, and other South Island representatives invited by the chamber.
Mr Bush said more direct overseas flights to Christchurch were wanted to stimulate the tourist industry and to boost air cargo.
