LOST AT POST

McFadyean Replaced A goal-post at Lancaster Park proved too big an opponent for the Lions centre, C. W. McFadyean. On Monday, McFadyean collided with a post, and yesterday, after a few runs with the team to play New Zealand Universities, he withdrew with an injured left leg. His place will be taken by the Welsh centre, D. K. Jones.

McFadyean’s Injury has come at a bad time for the Lions. The backs have been most heavily hit, McFadyean joining S. J. Watkins, S. Wilson, and R. Young. Also, M. P. Weston (injured shoulder) could not train yesterday. and D. K. Jones, suffering from muscle strain, did not stretch out in the final minutes of training. The Universities centre, K. J. Praia, was still a doubtful player, and no announcement will be made on his fitness until this morning. If he does not play, G. Weston, of Auckland, will be at centre.
