Population Warning
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) CALCUTTA, June 20. Dr. K. L. Rao, the Irrigation and Power Minister, said that India would not achieve higher living standards unless its population was stabilised at 700 million.
Indias’ population is now estimated at 495 million and, Dr. Rao said, it will reach the 700 million mark by 1980 unless the Government’s family planning drive took hold.
