June 22 NELSON ARRESTS.—Four men have been arrested for murder, on Maungatapu. These persons were examined and found to bear the marks of the men suspected to have murdered Dobson at the Grey. They had come up in the Wallaby on the 6th. Great search is being made for four missing men. Their pack-horse has been found shot, at the bottom of a deep ravine, and a swag with it No trace
yet of the men. Considerable excitement exists. TO UNDERTAKERS.—The Provincial Government invite tenders for the furnishing of paupers’ funerals for the period of twelve months, from the Ist July next Tenders endorsed "Tenders for Undertaking” to be sent in to the Provincial Secretary’s office not later than 12 o’clock, noon, on Thursday the 28th instant F. E. Stewart, Provincial Secretary.
