Gift Of Plane Table

A plane table giving a pictorial representation of the Canterbury Plains, the Southern Alps, and the Kaikouras is to be erected on the Port Hills by the Christchurch Rotary Club. It will be a gift to the people of Christchurch from the club.

The plane table will be set in a natural stone base on a rock outcrop in Cracroft reserve, near the Sign of . the Takahe. The area is now being landscaped by the Christchurch City Council. The panoramic scene, covering almost 180 degrees, will be represented with names and bearings on a bronze or stainless-steel plate.
