Port Hills C.W.I.
The Port Hill’s group of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes held its annual meeting at Lyttelton recently. Mrs E. O’Donovan welcomed the guests. The work of the arts and crafts circle, who visited Sunnyside Hospital weekly, was commended. The competition, a "TV supper,” provided considerable interest The judges, Mrs J. N. Payne and Mrs F. K. Gibson, spoke of the high standard of the entries. The winner was South Brighton, with Bromley and North Beach second.
The Newton Trophy was won by South Brighton with Lyttelton second. After lunch a social afternoon was held, each institute providing items.
