Country Team Chosen
The Country Rugby subunions’ selectors, Messrs J. Hotop and L. Davies, have announced the team to play Marlborough at Lancaster Park at 12.45 p.m., tomorrow. The game will be a curtain-raiser to the match between the Lions and New Zealand Universities. The team is:—Backs: I. Doody. J. Gardner, R. Wards, G. Benny, D. Kitchen, D. Wyllie, M. Boyce. Forwards: G. Henderson, A. Wyllie, J. Francis, M. Perkins, N. Cornelius, N. Manson, J. Sheehan, A. Hopkinson. Emergencies: backs, S. Wyliie, M. Earl, B. Peters; forwards, G. Dunster, B. Gardner, J. OHiver, W. Mcßrean.
No Change-— There will be no extension of playing hours or an increase from six-ball to eight-ball overs to Auckland cricket this season. Replacement Offer. The national three-miile champion, I. Studd (Auckland) Is available to accompany W. B. Baillie on a tour of Kenya and Scandinavia •if selected. J. L. Davies (Tokoroa) has withdrawn because of a foot injury. Cancelled.—The New Plymouth Yacht Club has had to cancel the running of the national junior yachting competition for the Tanner Cup and the Tauranga Cup contest for 7ft P class yachts next January because of port development dredging at New Plymouth.
