INTEREST RATES
Trading Ranks’ New Scale (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 20. Increased rates of Interest payable from tomorrow on term deposits with trading banks were announced today The increases were authorised in the Budget The new rates with the old In brackets are:— Thirty to 180 days, 3 per eent (2i per cent). Six months and under 12 months, 3i per cent (21 per cent for 7-9 months). Twelve months and under 24 months, 4 per cent (31 per cent for 10-23 months). Twenty-four months and over, 4j per cent (3j per cent for two years and aver). Variation* in these rates and terms may be negotiated on deposits tn excess of £lO,OOO.
