Effective Arrest

South Vietnam’s militant Buddhist leader, Thich Tri Quang, is under effective house arrest in the Hue hospital where he is continuing his anti-Government hunger strike. A squad of armed combat police in camouflaged uniforms moved through the hospital gate at 8 a.m. today and surrounded the building in which the 44-year-old monk has been living for more than a week.

Tri Quang was reported to be very weak today. He has lost 241 b after 12 days without solid food.
