Adoption Of Asian Children
Sir,—l feel that the policy of adonting Asian children by New Zealanders is not merely a very Christian thing to do but an extremely humane one. Most intelligent people would have thought deeply and far ahead before they finally derided to make an adoption. They most probably have the intention ot showing that skin pigmentation does not make or break a man. An Asian child brought up in New Zealand would have a far better ehance of being accepted by the New Zealand society than an immigrant. One can usually trust a “foreigner” more, if he can join in a chat about football over a couple at the
local. The problem of marriage posed by "Y” would be non-existent if they were no “Ys” in the world. Fortunately the law recognises the adult individual’s right to choose his or her own destiny. —Yours, etc, Z. June 20, 1966.
