NEW POST OFFICE

Tenders for the erection of a new post office at Christchurch north will be called soon.

Advice of this has been given by the Postmaster - General (Mr Scott) to Mr H. J. Walker (Govt., St. Albans). The building, which was des ; gned by Messrs Griffiths, Moffat and partners, will be a single-storey, cavity - brick structure with a floor area of 2000 square feet, at the corner of Edgeware road and Trafalgar street.

The new post office will replace the present St. Albans office which is conducted in leased premises. It is hoped to have the building completed early next year.
