WON 4 AERO CLUB CUPS

Mr I. Carmichael used a sugar bag to carry away the four trophies that were presented to him at the 38th annual meeting of the Canterbury Aero Club this week. Mr Carmichael won the Efficiency Cup for the total senior aggregate points, the D. Clive Crozier Cup for navigation, the Watson Jewellers Cup for senior bombing, and the Harry Worrall Cup for senior landing. Other trophies awarded were: the Harry Walker Cup for formation flying, Messrs W. L. Alexander, W. A. Morrison and W. Royds; the Rattray Cup for forced landing, Mr W. A. Morrison; the Giles Hilton Memorial Cup for the most improved junior pilot, Miss K. Scott; the President’s Cup for the most helpful club pilot member, Mr R. Merrin; the Sir Bruce Stewart Cup for aerobatics, Mr D. Owen; the James McDougal Shield for junior landing and the R. D. Cairns Cup for junior bombing, Mr B. Small. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr H. Worrall (reelected); president, Mr W. A. Morrison, immediate pastpresident, Mr G. J. Williamson; secretary, honorary treasurer, Mr J. Olds (reelected); club captain, Mr R. W. Lowe; committee, Messrs G. J. Davidson, B. Frazer, W. Morrison, W. L. Alexander, BO’Brie%D. Owen, C. L. White and PjfH. Scotter; auditors Messrs” Hoare, Taylor and Quirk.
