GOVT. DEER CULLERS
Big Reunion In August About 500 Government deer cullers and former-cullers are expected to attend a three day reunion which will be held in Christchurch on August 6,7, and 8. This will be the first reunion of its kind since Government deer culling began in 1930. On August 6, the first day of the reunion, a dinner will be held at Kerrs reach, followed by a Smoke Concert. Entertainment will be provided by local artists. A field day will be held the following day at Johns road, Belfast. Items will include, a hang! lunch,' park races, stag roaring competitions, and photographic, rifle and associated camping gear displays. On the last day of the reunion a conference will be held followed by a film evening at Kerrs reach. Films have been obtained from the National Film Library. At a recent meeting of the Government deer cullers reunion committee, members thanked Christchurch sports dealers and associated businesses who had donated gifts to be used as prizes for the field day novelty events.
