Two measures, the Electricians Amendment Bill and the Electric Linesmens Amendment Bill, were read a first time when Parliament resumed yesterday.
The annual reports of the Prisons Parole Board and the Secretary for War Pensions were tabled. The House debated the introduction of the Destitute Persons Amendment Bill, a private measure sponsored by Dr. A. M. Finlay (Opp., Waitakere). It was read a first time. Discussion on the report of the Lands and Agriculture Committee on noxious animals control concluded the afternoon’s. sitting. In the evening, the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) introduced the Budget.
