Time-Wasting Criticised

(N.Z. Pre»« Atsociation) INVERCARGILL, June 15. Federated Farmers’ Dominion agriculture conference held in Invercargill recently was attacked today for wasting time. At the monthly meeting of the agriculture section of Southland Federated Farmers today Mr S. Grant, of Balfour,

told that meeting that the welcomes and the presidential address should be held the night before the meeting. "We were at the meeting to discuss the nation’s business as agriculturalists. “If we got the preliminaries over the night before, we would have plenty of time to discuss the more important matters.”

“We are wasting money, not only our money, but the money of 60,000 farmers who are paying into the federation to send delegates to the Dominion conference,” said Mr Grant. The section’s president, Mr R. H. McKenzie, said steps were being taken to see that this situation did not arise again.
