Duties examination of plans and specifications of new ships, checking of survey reports, appraisal of designs of ships’ hull, machinery and equipment and other work associated with ships’ survey and/or examination of design of boilers, pressure vessels, lifts and cranes. Qualifications desired: minimum qualifications are First Class Marine Engineers Certificate for steam and motor ships with experience as a senior watchkeeper at sea.
