FURTHER FLOODING
Hong Kong Rains (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, June 15. Nearly an inch of rain fell in 10 minutes early this morning to undo much of the work to put Hong Kong back on to its feet after a disastrous week-end deluge. The dawn thunderstorm caused new floods and started another landslide on Hong Kong island, but is not known to have added to the casualty toll. The latest revised figures gave 49 dead, 11 presumed dead, 20 missing and 66 injured. More than 6000 people packed schools, churches and welfare centres after they lost their houses or had to be evacuated to safety as rocks, boulders and earth, loosened by the rains, came crashing down hillsides.
Prudential Building.—lnterim dividend of Prudential Building and Investment Society of Canterbury is a steady 4 per cent. Last year total dividend was 8 per cent. Latest dividend will be paid on June M.
