JESSON CASE

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 14.

The Minister of Police (Mr Allen) has asked the Commissioner of Police (Mr C. L. Spencer) for a full report on the police handling of the case against Bruce Edward Jesson.

Mr Jesson was discharged without conviction after appearing in' the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch on two charges of wilful damage. Giving a reserved decision, Mr H. J. Evans, S.M., said that the refusal by Inspector R. P. Silk to allow Mr Jesson to consult his solicitor was not justified, and that a complaint on this was well grounded. The report is expected shortly.
