(N.Z. Egress SYDNEY, June 14.
Every bicycle in New South Wales will have to carry a number plate if a scheme at present being considered by the Amateur Cyclists’ Union is approved by the State Government. If the plan becomes law New South Wales will become the second State in Australia to have compulsory registration for bicycles. All bicycles in Western Australia have to be registered and must carry a number plate, received on payment of a licence fee.
There are estimated to be about 500,000 bicycles on Australian roads.
