NARCOTICS CHARGE

Man Remanded At Timaru

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, June 14.

A sales manager, Graeme Ivan John Mclntosh, aged 22, of 24 Miro Miro street. Lower Hutt, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, Timaru, this morning charged with having narcotics in his possession. He was remanded to appear in Christchurch on June 16.

Mclntosh was charged with being in possession! cannabis (marihuana). He was arrested in Timaru last night by detectives of the Christchurch narcotics squad. Asking for bail to allow'him to complete a contract in Timaru for his firm, Mclntosh told Mr A. S. Abernethy, J.P., that he “had no intention of shooting through,” and had admitted everything freely to the police. Mr Abernethy at first refused the application but at a later hearing granted bail of £lOO, plus two sureties of £lOO.
