Notice of another Opposition measure, the Destitute Persons Amendment Bill, was given by Dr. A. M. Finlay (Opp., Waitakere) when Parliament resumed yesterday. The Public Accounts, the Controller and Audi-tor-General’s report, and the annual report of the police were tabled. The Surveyors’ Bill, the Public Trust Office Amendment Bill, the Trades Certification Bill, and the Universities Amendment Bill were all given second readings. Seven measures, amending the charters of the universities, were discussed during the evening.
