TASMAN TRIPS
Winter Cut Deplored
A reduction in the Tasman winter schedules in and out of Christchurch by Air New Zealand and Qantas is disappointing, says this month’s bulletin of the Christchurch airport authority. The time-table for June and July provides only four return jet services to Sydney on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday each week, and two Electra services to Melbourne, the journal says.
After a most successful summer and autumn season for both passenger and freight traffic, it is difficult to understand why such a severe curtailment must apply, it adds.
The Rev. D. M. Steedman has been reappointed the representative of the Presbytery of Christchurch on the board of governors of St. Andrew’s College.
