Rugby Club's Field Day
There will be a colourful collection of red and black jerseys at north Hagley Park on Saturday, when the Christchurch club will hold a field day: all of its 24 teams, except the seniors, will appear in north Hagley. Christchurch is only the second club to organise such a field day. The first club to have a day with all its teams on adjoining grounds was Marist. On grounds numbered 6 to 10, Christchurch teams up to sst 71b will be playing at 10 a.m.; at 11 ajn., the teams will be from 6st to under 15; and in the afternoon, starting at 1.30 p.m., the teams from under 16 to senior reserve will be playing.
Christchurch Is having another good season, with the senior team first equal and the under 17 side so far unbeaten. Six teams have had only one loss —the junior A, junior B, fourth grade and
under 18 B teams (of which the two last mentioned are drawn from the Rehua Maori hostel), the 6st 71b A and B teams. Many friends and supporters of the club, including some of its great playing and administrative personalities of years gone by, are expected to watch the club teams in action.
