U.S. OFFER FOR LAND

No Decision By Federation (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 13. Federated Farmers had not yet discussed at national level proposals by American interests to buy blocks of land in the Rotorua-Taupo district, an officer of Federated Farmers said today. Newspaper reports had given the impression that the Dominion office of Federated Farmers was not opposed to the purchase, he said. This was incorrect. No decision had been made. “At present we are seeking more information on the proposed purchases after a remit from our Rotorua province, wjHch asks the federation ‘to oppose the ownership of land by foreign absentee owners,”’ he said.
