(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BASLE (Switzerland), June 1 A new boost for the £ is forecast today after discussions in Basle by heads of the world’s leading central banks. An announcement is expected of a three-month extension of the stand-by credits given last September as sterling backing by 10 national banks and the Bank for International Settlements. Although details were never officially disclosed, these credits were understood to total £357m.
