Down 3-14, Won 15-14 (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The touring British Rugby League team made a magnificent recovery to beat Sydney, 15-14, on Saturday. The win was the first -glimpse of real form by the 'British players who had suffered two successive defeats 'in Queensland country centres. The tourists were down 0-12 in the first half, 3-12 at halftime and 3-14 three minutes after the resumption. ; Then they started to playreal football and with 11 minutes to go when ahead for the first time when the centre, I. -Brooke, scored his second try .near the posts and K. Gowers -converted.
The crowd of 38,831 had a Jhrilling final 10 minutes as •Sydney attacked strongly. But ’at the finish Britain was at--tacking and still one point -ahead.
' The star of the match was the touring half-back T. -Bishop. With 23 minutes to go .Bishop put Britain right back •into the game when he scored a brilliant try. - For Britain. Brooke (2) and •Bishop scored tries, while .Gowers kicked three goals. ■Sydney’s points came from tries by R. Thornett and G. Xanglands, and four goals by K. Barnes.
