Mare Brings 650 Gns
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDiN. Magic Casement, an eight-year-old mare by Perilous from Coral Charm, offered by Mr L. J. DfflSon, of Dunedin, was the top-priced lot sold at the sale of bloodstock at the Wingatui racecourse yesterday afternoon. The winner of seven races, Magic Casement was sold for 650gn-s. She has a positive test to the successful sire, Bellborough. She was purchased by a brother of the vendor, Mr B. E. DIHon, of Blackstone HIM, Central Otago.
The most active buyer at the sale was Mr D. B. C. Alilrln formerly of Dunedin, but for the last few years the owner of the Morwenstow Stud at Kadapoi. Mr AliMn paid SOfigns for Tablecloth CKmanova - Damask) offered on behalf of Messrs Rede! and Russell, of Outram, after the seven-year-old mare failed to reach the reserve.
