THE AUSTRALIAN PAVILION at the 1967 World Exhibition in Montreal will provide 24,000 sq. ft of exhibit space for the display of science, arts and national development, and an exhibit portraying the Australian way of life. The architect, James MacCormick, describes it as “basically a floating square box, consisting of four square-mouthed, trumpet-shaped hollow pillars that lends the interior the grace of Gothic fan-vaulting.” The cost of Australian participation in the fair is estimated at £1,500,000.
