SMITHFIELD MARKET

Lamb Steady (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 10. There was very slow trading on London’s Smithfield Market this week after quiet retail trade last week-end because of hot weather, reports the Meat Board market information service. New Zealand mutton was very scarce, with no quotable prices. New Zealand beef was not quoted. Reduced pitchings of New Zealand lamb enabled steady sales to be maintained at unchanged prices.
