The market closed on a firm note on heavy trading on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday. Trading was particularly active in the oil market where Woodside (Lakes Entrance) 10 cent paid shares and Planet Oil stood out. In the mining section the Barrier stocks gained ground slightly. The Sydney Stock Exchange will be closed on Monday. June 13. MELBOURNE Industrials were firm on the Melbourne Stock Exchange yesterday. A special sale of 112,500 Repco was reported at 203 and the stock closed at 205—up 2 cents. Main Interest was the solid buying of oil shares at higher levels. Santos jumped 30 cents to 310 after a report of a big gas flow in Moomba No. 2.
