Laws Not Issue

(By our Rugby Correspondent) INVERCARGILL.

“We have no problems at present,” said the manager of the Lions team, Mr D. J. O’Brien, when asked about his discussions on law interpretations with representatives of the New Zealand Rugby Union yesterday. “Until we play under New Zealand referees we do not know if there are going to be different interpretations. “This was just a general talk on laws. Sometimes I think that referees are made too important. “The best thing one should be able to say about referees is that you did not notice them during a match.”

Mr O’Brien said that he had been quite happy with referees in Australia and envisaged no problems in New Zealand.
